PERSONAL
My wife Gwen and I have three children; Grace, works for the Republican National Committee (another generation gets involved!); Andre, a senior at St. Joseph’s College; and Gerald, a sophomore both had a wonderful year playing soccer together as St. Joe’s went on to win their division championship. I attended public school in the Bangor, then graduated from John Bapst High School, and attended the University of Maine where I studied business. I am currently a real estate agent and also have a home construction business. Gwen works for a telecommunications company. Previously, we owned and operated other small businesses in the area. These experiences have given me an understanding of many of the issues that affect those who have chosen to live and work in Maine. It also gives me an appreciation for the need to be service oriented, something that is important in being a good representative.
COMMUNITY
My belief is it is important to give something back to our community. To that end, I have had the pleasure of being involved with numerous civic organizations. My experience includes:
* Bangor Jaycees – local club & state Director
* Bangor Rotary – Director
* Hampden Kiwanis
* EMMC Children’s Miracle Network Board – President
* Phillips-Strickland House – Corporator
* Eastern Maine Community College Foundation
* Board of Directors, Avalon Village
* Black Bear United Football Club, President
* Hampden Business Association, Vice Chair
* Citizens for Quality Education
GOVERNMENT
My experience as a town councilor in two communities, member of both a
charter review, and land use review committee and my service on
Hampden’s Comprehensive Review Panel, Services, Planning and Development, and Finance Committees has provided me with a broad
understanding of the issues that impact many communities in central Maine. It has also been a pleasure to work on the Communications Committee, developing and hosting local access cable shows that help to bring residents a closer look and better understanding of our town’s people and organizations that have made Hampden “THE community of choice in central Maine”
