PERSONAL

My wife Gwen and I have three adult children; Grace, Andre, and Gerald and now three grandchildren. I attended public school in the Bangor, then graduated from John Bapst High School, and attended the University of Maine where I studied business. I am currently a real estate agent. Gwen works for a telecommunications company. Previously, we owned and operated other small businesses in the area. These experiences have given me an understanding of many of the issues that affect those who have chosen to live and work in Maine. It also gives me an appreciation for the need to be service oriented, something that is important in being a good representative in the public.

COMMUNITY

My belief is it is important to give something back to our community. To that end, I have had the pleasure of being involved with numerous civic organizations. My experience includes:

  • Board member for U S Clubhouse
  • Bangor Jaycees – local club & state Director
  • Bangor Rotary – Director
  • Hampden Kiwanis
  • EMMC Children’s Miracle Network Board – President
  • Phillips-Strickland House – Corporator
  • Eastern Maine Community College Foundation
  • Board of Directors, Avalon Village
  • Black Bear United Football Club, President
  • Hampden Business Association, Vice Chair
  • Citizens for Quality Education

NATIONALLY

  • National Conference of State Legislators
  • American Legislative Exchange Council, First Vice President
  • Kitchen table Democracy

GOVERNMENT

My experience as a town councilor in two communities, member of both a charter review, and land use review committee and my service on Hampden’s Comprehensive Review Panel, Services, Planning and Development, and Finance Committees has provided me with a broad understanding of the issues that impact many communities in central Maine. It was also a pleasure to work on the Communications Committee, developing and hosting local access cable shows that help to bring residents a closer look and better understanding of our town’s people and organizations.
